Cara Suzanne Petura

Sunday:
3:00 ish- A call to the doctor. I was feeling a bit crampy but nothing was really hurting me too bad. The doctor didn't think I was in "real" labor because I was able to speak through the contractions. He told me to come in though just to be on the safe side. We got our things together.
4:30- Get to the hospital to get checked by the nurse. The nurse said I was having consistent contractions. They started to really pick up and hurt pretty badly. Doctor comes in to do an internal exam. He told me I was already at 4 cm!! Then he broke my water and thats when things got interesting....
5:30 In room already, they were trying as hard as they could to get me the epidural. IV was flying in my arm, blood work was being drawn and I was going to get sick. It was a mad house.
6:00- 8 cm and was told I probably wouldn't make the epidural. I burst out crying. Contractions were coming hard and fast.
6:20-I felt like I wanted to push so badly! Doctor checked me again. 10 cm. We were ready to go.
6:38- After 3 contractions and a couple of pushes, Cara Suzanne Petura was born!

Cara Suzanne Petura
6 pounds, 10 ounces
19 inches long
Lots of blond hair!

Congrats on precious baby Cara! I'm so glad that things went well and it looks like Maeve has adjusted well (or at least she's smiling in the photos)! You look amazing too, by the way!

I was wondering when you are going to update the blog...Home most of the day yesterday and nothing! HAHA! Just kidding. I know how crazy it was and with Maeve being only 18 months...you are probably going crazier than I was! Cara is beautiful and you look great! Congrats to the Petura family!
