Our Night Last Night

We had an unbelievable night last night. Kenyon made dinner as I fed Maeve. She miraculously went to sleep right after and slept for three hours! This allowed me and Kenyon to have a romantic anniversary dinner. We had wine, good food and PRESENTS! I gave Kenyon his Movado watch and he gave me an anniversary band for my right hand. :) I am spoiled! Here are some pictures of our dinner. And no- there will NOT be an anniversary baby. LOL.

One Year Ago...

I married the love of my life one year ago today. What a whirlwind this year has been! Kenyon is the best thing that has happened to me with Maeve coming in a very close second. He makes me laugh, and right now- keeps me sane! I am lucky and on this day will always remember how much God has blessed me. Happy Anniversary Baby.

Hanging Out with My Parents

Today was the first day without Pop Pop and Grandma Susie. We slept pretty well last night but got fussy around 5. Daddy brought me downstairs so Mommy could sleep and then they switched. So, overall they slept ok. Mommy and Daddy had to wait for an insurance man to come and they couldn't eat for over 12 hours straight! Boy was Mommy grumpy! Here are some pictures of me and Daddy hanging out. We slept a lot during the day. Tomorrow is Mommy and Daddy's anniversary! They have only been married one year! Crazy how much has happened. Anyway- enjoy!

Pretty Outfits!

I am growing! I can now fit into my little newborn outfits. The 0-3 month outfits kind of look ridiculous on me right now because I am so tiny but the newborn ones fit perfectly. Here are a couple of pictures of some of the outfits I put on when Grandma Susie and Pop Pop Richie were here. They leave tomorrow and I am very sad about that. I am going to meet my other Grandma and Grandpa very soon though! That makes me happy. Here is a picture of me in my pretty pink outfit.

Now here I am in green. I think I look good in green.

Here I am with Grandma Susie.

Santa (and Family) was good to Maeve!

We had a rough night (Maeve was up from 4-8:00 a.m.) but turned into a GREAT morning. Santa and our family was great to little Maeve. She was not really awake to see her presents but we held them up in front of her face. I am sure she will love them! Here are some pictures of the wonderful presents she got! Merry Christmas to everyone!

Christmas Eve

We all got dressed and ready to go to church. Mommy, Daddy, Pop Pop Richie, Grandma Susie and I went to church at 4:00 p.m. First though we had to take some pictures of me in my beautiful dress that Mommy bought me. I was so good at church! I didn't cry at all and so many people told me what a blessing I am. Daddy had to leave with me to change my diaper and feed me. But overall, it was a Silent Night for me. I have to go to bed soon because Santa is coming soon. Love you all....

Maeve Video

Grandma Susie and Pop Pop Richie are here!

We are having such an exciting time here in California with Grandma Susie and Pop Pop Richie! Grandma Susie held me for three hours yesterday non-stop! Then Pop Pop wouldn't put me down. Poor Mommy and Daddy were up all night because I slept in their arms all day but oh well- it was so snuggly. I tried out my pacifier today. It kept me quiet for over an hour. Mommy says she is going to put that thing in my mouth more often. It's okay with me! So here are some pictures of my Grandparents and me! I love them so much!

There is a God...

Last night Maeve slept from 8:30-11:30 and then woke up for a dirty diaper. We put her back down and she woke up at 1:00 to eat. Then she slept until 4:20! She woke up to eat again and then slept until 6:45! Woo-hoo. She must know today is going to be a big day with Grandma Susie and Pop Pop Richie coming! Poor Kenyon got bad sleep though because it was too hot in the room. Our heater is awful and if you turn it slightly it turns out to be 100 degrees in the room. So needless to say, Kenyon could not sleep. Anyway, today is going to be a long day. I am going to go to school to surprise my kids in time for the holiday (with presents of course) and Kenyon will stay home with the baby. This is the first time she will be out of my sight since birth. I don't know if I can handle this, lol. Yes, I AM one of those moms! More later.

Out and About!

Okay so today was a very big day for us! We were out at school for lunch with the teachers. After that, Daddy, Mommy and I went to Starbucks. They have wonderful things there like MOCHAS! Mommy has had to stay away from mochas for a long time now. Daddy and Mommy didn't talk much because after they sat down they realized how tired they were. They were kind of like they were in comas. I didn't see much though because I was sleeping too. That's what a good feeding does to me! I was wearing such sute outfits today. I had a zip up on that looked like a reindeer. Everyone said I was adorable. My belly-button has come off and Mommy keeps getting freaked out because it bleeds sometimes. She says UGH...that is gross. Anyway, I am hungry so here are some more adorable pictures of me. Hope you like them!

A Big Sigh....(AAAAH)

So it took two days of pumping and lotion and pumping and lotion and fixing them and airing them out but guess what?? These milk makers are back in business! She fed last night from both breasts. It was so nice but at the same time so exhausting. She was a hungry hungry hippo last night! She fed every hour and a half. That is called cluster feeding. The pedi told us she would do that when she was going through a growth spurt. Our baby must be growing! She would feed for twenty minutes or so and then wake up and hour later and want more. That meant there were two VERY tired parents. Poor Kenyon was talking in his sleep. I was trying to figure out what he was saying. He was either saying bottles or battles. Then he would jump up and say diaper, LOL!!! He is such a good father. Anyway, better go but wanted to share the good news that I am back in business!

Meltdown- A lot of TMI

No, not for her, for me. I think the whole post partum thing has kicked in. I couldn't feed her last night because my nipples were so cracked and bleeding (yes, I said bleeding). I fed her the last two times on my left breast just trying to ease the pain on the right. In the morning I pumped my milk and it was heaven! Kenyon got to feed her for the first time and it was so nice for me to sit back and not have to jump every time she cries. This breastfeeding thing has been hard but I think it can be managed with the help of the Medela pump! (I know, I sound like an ad for it). Anyway, here are some pictures of Kenyon feeding her and then her in her milk coma!

Sleeping Beauty

So it is Sunday and we have been home now for a week. We are getting tired and kind of feeling like we are cooped up in the house. Kenyon has been out to the grocery store and to run some errands but I have not seen the light of day in a while. I think I am starting to go crazy. So, we have plans this week to go to school (after the kids leave of course) for some lunch with friends. Then, I think I might go downtown and do some fun shopping. That is, if I can manage breastfeeding beforehand and coming back in time for her next feeding. Not pumping yet makes it very difficult for me to go anywhere or do anything! We had our first blow out projectile vomit session. It was gross and scary at the same time. There was milk coming out of her nose and mouth and she literally blew it across at me covering my shirt, pants, blanket and boppy. I was scared to say the least and started yelling for Kenyon who was downstairs. He came running up and helped me change her. I was not amused. Needless to say, she was hungry an hour later and it was back to the milk factory for her! But now she has been asleep for 2 hours and we have some down time. I guess everything happens for a reason. Here is a picture of our sleeping beauty. She gets more and more pretty each day. We are still trying to figure out which features she gets from me and which ones are from Kenyon. Maybe you can tell us!

One Week Birthday!

It is exactly 8:45 a.m. here right now. One week ago beautiful Maeve was born. Happy Birthday little one!

Mommy and Maeve

We played dress up yesterday and Maeve is looking so cute in this little outfit! She is a matching diva with her little purple hat and outfit. Kenyon keeps telling me that she is not a doll and I cannot play with her...ummm... we did have a daughter, right? Of course I can play dress up with her! She is eating a lot and growing fast. Her little chubby cheeks just seem to get bigger each day. She is so Daddy's little girl though. Last night, she was being a fuss-pot at night (this is like at 2:00 a.m.) Daddy picked her up and handed her to me to feed her. After that was over (30 minutes later) we tried to put her down in her bassinet. She wasn't having it. Normally, she will sleep REALLY well in that. Daddy picked her up and she stopped fussing. So she slept by his side through the night. She didn't wake up for THREE and A HALF hours!! Can we say Daddy's girl?? Anyway... some cute pics. More tomorrow!

Dear Santa,

So Santa.... I have been really good this year. I eat all of my food when I am supposed to. I don't wake up too much at night with mommy and daddy. I have never blown out my diaper at all! I don't talk back to my parents. I only cry when I am cold or hungry. Oh, and I only peed on my clothes once. So, what do you think I am getting for Christmas?

Love, Maeve

Hi to My Class!

Hi guys! I just wanted to say hello. I am missing you and school SO much. I hope that you are being good for Ms. Aurich! I am hoping to come by soon. Maybe next week I will have Kenyon watch Maeve so that I can come in and see my favorite kids in the whole world. I have some special holiday presents for all of you. Maeve is getting so big but it is too cold outside to bring her to school. Maybe if it gets a little warmer then I can come by with her. Here are some pictures I took of her JUST for you guys. I told to say Room 33 is the Place to Be! (She didn't talk though, oh well!). Talk to you soon. Love, Mrs. Petura

Just Hanging Out

Today was a very relaxing day. We had a pretty rough night last night so today we decided to just hang out. Maeve had a lot of awake time today because we are trying to make her days and nights right again. She seemed to have them confused when she decided to stay up ALL night last night. Daddy got a lot of playing time with Maeve today. He put her in the pink papasan seat and she had fun looking right into his eyes. Then we placed her in front of the Christmas tree where she stared at the lights for a long time. We head back to the doctor tomorrow to see how she is doing gaining weight. It should be a fun time trying to manage to get her out again! Here are some fun pictures. More later!

3 Days Old!

We went to the doctor's today to find out how little Maeve is doing. She is currently 6 lbs 13 oz. She lost a little bit of weight but that is totally normal! She has a bit of a rash but the doc said that is also normal in newborns too. We asked how to cut her little nails and she gave us some tips on that. Overall, Maeve is healthy and doing wonderfully. We have to go back on Wednesday to make sure that she hasn't lost anymore weight. Since I am breastfeeding, we have no way of knowing how much she is getting. The way she gulps down the milk though, she MUST be getting a lot! Here are some pictures of her today. Enjoy!

Coming Home!

So we came home yesterday and Maeve got a lot of her firsts. This was the first time she was outside, her first time in the car, her first time at home, etc etc etc. She was so quiet in the car but that's because we made sure she was fed before we left! She came home and got a little fussy in the evening but overall, was wonderful. We made it home and saw balloons and signs hanging on our house. We were so excited! (Shout out to Andrea). Maeve met our neighbor Leo who was in awe of her. She slept really well last night but that's because her belly was full every three hours or so. Daddy is so good with her. He is a pro at changing her diapers and calming her down before feedings. He laughs when she makes funny noises or faces at him. Here are some pictures of us leaving. More later!
