Fog Fest 2008

We went to the Fog Fest today in Pacifica with our friends Renee, Tim and Trevor. We had a lot of fun. It was exactly what it claimed to be- FOGGY! But we had a great time. :)
What do you mean "Get out of the truck...." I don't care whose fire truck this is- I'M DRIVING IT!

Do we have a future Mechanical Engineer on our hands?

I will always be a California girl.....

The Petura Family having fun!

So not right....yet so funny!

This boy is ALWAYS leaning in for a kiss! But he is such a gentleman.

It's Official

We are moving home to New Jersey! Kenyon accepted a job at Princeton University. We are so excited! We only have exactly 30 days left here in Maeve's only home, California. We will be flying out on October 26th. It is kind of weird to think that we are going to go back to our roots. We have become a family out here and we both have a feeling that it is going to make us very sad when we actually leave. There were so many things we have experienced out here and to think that it will just be a memory is upsetting. Now, we have made wonderful friends that will always be our friends. We will definitely be back here (I am hoping once a year) to visit so that Maeve will always know about the place she was born. I have a lot of feelings to write but Kenyon is sitting here telling me that people will get bored if I keep typing- so I have decided to share some pictures with you. These are from the very beginning. Over the next couple of days, I will include more of them. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed being in California!
Seriously, how young do we look? MY GOODNESS!

Had to put a bridge picture in!

AAAAh.....Napa and V. Sattui of course! (shout out to Matt!)

Lemos Farm

We went to Lemos Farm with Maeve. She absolutely loved it. There was a petting/feeding area with goats. They also had pony rides but she was way too little for that. We walked around watching the kids play and sat her next to a lot of pumpkins which she thought was hilarious. They also had this hillbilly music playing which she loved. I am thinking she is going to like country music. BLEH. We went on a ghost train ride which was VERY scary. Only she didn't know that, lol. Overall, she was super stimulated and zonked out on the way home. Hey- thats all we can ask for!
Those sure are funny looking people.

Is this the same wagon Kenyon and I took to get to CA?

She looks like such a big girl.

I LOVE this pic.

Sooooo sleepy!

She makes me laugh...

YES! Those are Rice Krispies on her head and wait until you see what happens at the end. Turn up the volume!

Purimisa Creek

We were very busy today.... we got up at 7:15 (Maeve slept 12 hours last night!) and headed out by 8:30. We went hiking on this trail called Purimisa Creek. It is so pretty there. They have redwoods lining the trails and a creek (obviously, with the name) running through the middle of it. Maeve didn't last too long but we did get out for about 40 minutes or so! Here are the pictures from it!
Maeve in her jogger....

Hee hee... this is fun!

I was done with the stroller so this is how Daddy carried me!

Checking out the creek with Daddy.

Then we left the trail for an hour ride along the coast. After that, we went to a farm! More pictures of that to come!!!

We Have a BIT of movement!

So, we have a little bit of movement. Not a ton- not enough to video it just yet. But Miss Maeve has learned how to crawl (or scooch) backwards and turn in circles. Then when she gets tired, she just rolls over. But hey! That is a little bit of an accomplishment!
In this picture, she scooched back until she was straddling the leg of the coffee table. Then she cried because she didn't know how to get out!

9 Month Stats!

So we went to the doctor yesterday. Honestly, it was kind of uneventful- which is a good thing I guess. Maeve was umm....can we say talkative.. to say the least. The doctor was cracking up at how much she had to say to herself in the mirror! Here are some of her stats:

Weight- 50th percentile at 19.4 pounds
Height- 25th percentile at 27 1/2 inches
Head Circumference- 50th percentile at 44.5 (her brain is growing so nicely!)

She is a tiny little thing. Which led to a lot of questions on my side. Is she eating enough? Do I reduce the breastfeeding? Can she have finger foods? What kinds are they? I am clueless when it comes to the next steps. But you know what? That is what they are there for! So we are going to three meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. She CAN start eating finger foods (staying away from high allergy foods). She suggested Rice Crispies (who would have thought?) cubed pears and peaches etc. Anything that gives her different textures in her mouth. I don't have to reduce the breastfeeding (although she gave me a schedule and I am only one more feeding than what she thinks Maeve needs). She believes Maeve will reduce them on her own. Sleeping through the night. Yeah, Maeve is SO NOT doing this. She laughed and said she was doing it on purpose because I was actually waking up with her! As soon as she gets better, she is so going to be crying it out in the middle of the night. She goes down wonderfully.....she just gets up three times a night to feed. UGH! She was quite impressed that Maeve can pull up on her own. But wrote something in her chart that Maeve was not crawling- OH MAN! She put her on all fours though and Maeve started rocking back and forth and the doc predicted it would be any day now! No teeth yet which I so don't mind because I am still enjoying my nipples, hahaha! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy. There is video at the end!!
Mommy....how do you get this thing on?

Hahahaha! I am so funny!

Yes, I am standing all by myself now!

Tongue shot for Aunt Bean!

I really enjoy hanging socks out of my mouth.

I don't know what happened. I was standing and the next thing I knew...I was on the floor!

I love this girl!

Happy 9 Months Baby Maeve

I don't know why but I feel as though I am going to cry writing this. It is amazing to me that my baby has been outside of me just as long as she has been inside of me now. She is growing up so fast and I am just trying to remember every moment- the good and the bad. She is such a good little girl. We were truly blessed when God decided to give us the miracle of Maeve. I write all of this as she sits in the kitchen screaming in happiness because she just ate her whole bowl of oatmeal! LOL. We love her so much. Enjoy the past nine months....

Auntee Maree's Wedding Day

We had so much fun at Auntee Maree and Uncle Scott's wedding! I met so many new people that I am related to. Did you know that I have an awesome cousin named Steffany? She was so much fun to hang out with! I didn't get to go to the reception but that was only because mommy and daddy wanted some alone time. And boy did they get it! They were without me for HOURS. Honestly, I think they really enjoyed themselves. Here are some pictures from this day!
